Myanmar has seen growing interest in Bitcoin amid banking disruptions and remittance needs, but the central bank has not recognised crypto as legal tender. The kyat remains the official currency. Authorities have warned against unlicensed crypto and periodically moved against operators, and there is no clear licensing framework, so use is largely informal and peer-to-peer.
