Jamaica
Jamaica has one of the Caribbean's more active crypto scenes, and in 2022 it became one of the first countries to launch a national digital currency, JAM-DEX. Bitcoin is legal, but not legal tender, and the Jamaican dollar remains the official currency. The Bank of Jamaica has warned against crypto and focused on its own digital dollar, leaving bitcoin largely unregulated and used mainly for remittances and small payments.
