Haiti has faced prolonged economic and political hardship, and Bitcoin has found a small role for remittances and savings. Bitcoin is legal, but not legal tender, and the gourde remains the official currency. The central bank has warned against crypto, and no dedicated licensing framework exists, so adoption remains limited and largely peer-to-peer. Port-au-Prince hosts a very small Bitcoin community.
