Colombia
Colombia is one of Latin America's fastest-growing Bitcoin markets, with remittances, inflation and a large population of unbanked users driving adoption. Bitcoin is legal, but not legal tender, and the peso remains the official currency. Regulation is still maturing: authorities have run a regulatory sandbox for exchanges and debated a dedicated crypto law, while the tax authority treats bitcoin as an asset subject to income or capital gains tax. Bogotá and Medellín host some of the region's liveliest Bitcoin meetups, and merchants in both cities accept sats. Use this map to find the Colombian places where you can spend sats.
