Turkey
Turkey is one of the world's biggest Bitcoin markets, as lira depreciation and high inflation push people toward sats to protect their savings. Bitcoin is legal, but not legal tender, and using it as a means of payment is banned. Trading is allowed but regulated: exchanges must meet anti-money-laundering rules, and a 2024 law brought service providers under the Capital Markets Board and other watchdogs. There is still no dedicated tax on individual bitcoin gains, though politicians have debated adding one. Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir have active Bitcoin communities and a growing set of merchants. Use this map to find the Turkish places where you can spend sats.
