Slovenia
Slovenia has an outsized Bitcoin history for a small country: Ljubljana's BTC City shopping district declared itself a Bitcoin City in 2017, and the town of Kranj is home to a monument to the currency. Bitcoin is legal, but not legal tender, and the euro remains the official currency. The tax authority treats bitcoin as a capital asset, with gains taxed as capital income, and local exchanges and communities have kept the scene alive. Ljubljana and Maribor host regular meetups and a scattering of bitcoin-accepting businesses. Use this map to find the Slovenian places where you can spend sats.
